In our communities
We work to support birth and postpartum in a way that provides knowledge and advocacy to each mother, resulting in feelings of confidence that lead to making informed decisions for themselves. With this strategy, our goal is to inspire a positive birth experience, a deeper appreciation for their body’s design and abilities, and reduce or even eliminate trauma in the birth space.
In our collective
As a doula collective, we champion each other’s efforts to support parents in Central Illinois to reach their goals in birth, the postpartum period, and in parenting. We do this through collaboration of resources, offering back up support, growing our skills through education, and providing an authentic doula community to help each other flourish.

Charity Jeffs
Charity is a Midwest girl, born and raised in Central Indiana. She loves experiencing all four seasons, and the lush green landscapes we are so blessed with in this neck of the woods. She also loves to travel and see the beauty of the world, especially National Parks! Along with traveling, Charity, and her husband Rick, enjoy exercising together, including participating in various races including triathlons and Ragnar relays. Charity also loves trivia, to bake and to laugh! She has five children, who arrived in various ways (epidural, no epidural, C-section, VBAC), which gives her a unique perspective as she supports women in their birth choices and all that can and does happen on the amazing journey of pregnancy, labor and delivery. Charity also enjoys volunteering as a guest speaker about the labor experience for Centering Pregnancy Peoria.
Datia Rosenburg
Born and raised in Mexico City, Datia moved to Champaign Urbana in 2017 with her husband and her three kids. She enjoys spending time at home with her six pets, loves to read, and is pretty consistent working out at the gym. Working with people has always been a passion since early on in her degree in psychology. Datia has been a teacher, care manager and coordinator for elderly people, and is a Licensed Psychologist in Mexico. In her free time, she has always loved to travel the world with her husband and learn about countries, cultures, religions, and food. Another great passion is teaching Lamaze prenatal education.
As a birth doula, she gives 100% to her clients from the very first meeting and her goal is to educate, empower and advocate along with the families to have the most memorable birthing experience.
Eliana Edgecombe
Serving the Decatur and surrounding areas since 2024, Eliana started her path into the birth world when her baby brother was born. Not yet a teenager at the time, Eliana found that pregnancy, birth, and postpartum held a special place in her heart as she was able to observe and support her mother in small ways. The passion she has in supporting mothers and families focuses on bringing peace and encouragement to the room as she helps them clarify what’s best for their family and birth needs. In addition, she aims to shine a light on the intelligent design built into the growing mother and baby duo. With this in mind, some additional interests of hers include fertility awareness, childbirth education, and lactation support.
Eliana has a Bachelor’s degree in Health Psychology from Greenville University and is certified through Childbirth International. For fun, she enjoys spending time outside in her garden, walking her neighborhood or hiking trails with her husband and baby boy, and going on caving adventures as her schedule allows. She’s almost always singing or humming around her house, or diving into a new audiobook or podcast. She is also an active member of her church, volunteers monthly at her local pregnancy resource center, and regularly enjoys time with her close-knit family.
Laura Thorp
Laura’s love of birth began when she was privileged to attend the birth of her little brother at just five years old. Since then, she has birthed seven children of her own and attended dozens of client’s births...and a few farm animals during her family’s years in the country! She’s had one hospital birth, one unplanned home “emergency” birth with an EMT crew, and five births at home with a midwife.
She currently lives in Bloomington, IL with her husband and children. She has one grown & married son, and recently welcomed a grandbaby!! Most days she can be found homeschooling five who are still at home. Included in her crew are two on the autism spectrum so homeschool days are sometimes a bit loud & chaotic but always filled with laughter & joy!
Laura loves to garden, lift weights, and walk with friends. She would love to have backyard chickens again some day (they were the hardest thing to leave on the farm). She also loves puzzles and table top games around the family dining table.
Laura has been a birth doula for over 20 years with an emphasis on natural childbirth education. She truly believes that natural childbirth is not something for the extraordinary woman, but something that is normal and possible for most women with the right education, preparation and support. She would love to serve & support your family as you prepare for this joyful event!
Marcia Mattern
You can find Marcia outside, exploring or hiking, with one of her six children in the woods. Her children range in age from teenager to adult, but she’s pleased with the addition of grandchildren who she hopes will call her, Marmie. She is always guiding and supporting others—whether it’s about faith, homeschooling, nutrition (she’s a Dietitian, too) or working with her couples to prepare for birth.
Attending her first birth in 2004, Marcia has supported more than 550 births. Marcia is so grateful for her supportive husband (have you heard them speak together?). Marcia is curious about people and wants to see them thrive! She loves to read and is only slightly embarrassed that the pile of books beside her bed topples over some nights. You can find Marcia providing care in the Peoria area.
Reach out! We’d love to get connected with you!
